New Game2004NEW GAME EXISTS ONLY IN A DEMO VERSION. YOU MAY EXPERIENCE RANDOM CRASHES AND LOCK-UPS. WE ARE FULLY AWARE OF THIS AND WILL ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AT A LATER STAGE. The rules of the game are unfair but strict. Number of players: 2 (default setting: 1 female, 1 male) The object of the game is to obtain the “unnamed target of perpetual yearning" before time runs out. Primary mission: to keep going Manual: N/A For optimal performance please turn off Safe Mode before entering gameplay. Hint: If at any point a player wishes to quit the game, she should bring up the options menu and press 'End game now'. The question 'Are you absolutely sure?' will then appear. Please note that this is an irreversible operation. The demo represents approximately 2% of the whole game. Taking the structure and form of computer games as its frame, New Game tells the parallel stories of two people, a woman and a man, by recreating the subjective experience of significant moments in their lives. Subjected to the various external and internal events, their primary aim and task is to go on, to get through the different levels of their respective games, no matter what. Here too, as in life, the only way to end the game is to lose, and the only way to avoid losing is to keep going. Step by step, level by level, the arch for each life, the fate of each person is revealed. Then the two stories cross each other, and a third one emerges: that of a life they could have together. New Game is a love story. New Game premiered in 2004 at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, and has been shown in various theatres and festivals in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. |
